Project 1 – Smart & Start Italia
Development and Industrialization of the ViberAlert Smart Haptic Safety System for Motorcycles
Project Overview
This project focuses on the development, prototyping, and commercialization of ViberAlert, a patented smart motorcycle seat system designed to improve rider safety through tactile communication. The system converts traditional visual or acoustic vehicle alerts into localized vibration signals delivered through the seat, allowing riders to receive critical information without diverting their attention from the road
The solution addresses a major cause of motorcycle accidents: driver distraction caused by dashboard monitoring
The technology can be implemented both as:
- Aftermarket accessory kits
- OEM-integrated systems for motorcycle manufacturers.
The device integrates with the motorcycle’s electronic control unit and navigation systems, translating signals such as turn indicators, warnings, or system anomalies into intuitive vibration patterns.
The project includes the development of hardware, firmware, and digital interfaces necessary to transform the patented concept into a scalable commercial product.

The Brevetti+ project supports the technological development and industrial valorization of the patented Viber Alert automotive haptic interface, designed to improve road safety in passenger vehicles.
The patented technology introduces a seat-based tactile alert system capable of communicating vehicle warnings and hazard notifications directly to the driver through vibration patterns integrated into the seat.
The system is designed to work seamlessly with vehicle electronic systems, retrieving data from the vehicle’s CAN-BUS network and translating relevant safety signals into tactile feedback.
This approach allows drivers to perceive warnings without shifting visual attention away from the road, reducing reaction time and improving safety.
