Viber Alert develops advanced safety technologies for road mobility through patented haptic communication systems that improve driver awareness and reduce distraction.

The development of our technology has been supported by two national innovation programs managed by Invitalia:

These programs contribute to accelerating the industrialization, protection, and commercialization of the Viber Alert technology platform.

This project focuses on the development, prototyping, and commercialization of ViberAlert, a patented smart motorcycle seat system designed to improve rider safety through tactile communication. The system converts traditional visual or acoustic vehicle alerts into localized vibration signals delivered through the seat, allowing riders to receive critical information without diverting their attention from the road

The solution addresses a major cause of motorcycle accidents: driver distraction caused by dashboard monitoring

The technology can be implemented both as:

The device integrates with the motorcycle’s electronic control unit and navigation systems, translating signals such as turn indicators, warnings, or system anomalies into intuitive vibration patterns.

The project includes the development of hardware, firmware, and digital interfaces necessary to transform the patented concept into a scalable commercial product.

The Viber Alert system introduces a novel haptic human–machine interface for vehicle safety.

Key elements include:

Unlike traditional alert systems based on lights or sound, Viber Alert communicates through tactile feedback, allowing riders to remain fully focused on the road.

Road safety remains one of the most critical global mobility challenges. Motorcyclists represent a particularly vulnerable category of road users, with distraction identified as one of the leading causes of accidents.

By translating vehicle alerts into tactile signals, Viber Alert:

The Brevetti+ project supports the technological development and industrial valorization of the patented Viber Alert automotive haptic interface, designed to improve road safety in passenger vehicles.

The patented technology introduces a seat-based tactile alert system capable of communicating vehicle warnings and hazard notifications directly to the driver through vibration patterns integrated into the seat.

The system is designed to work seamlessly with vehicle electronic systems, retrieving data from the vehicle’s CAN-BUS network and translating relevant safety signals into tactile feedback.

This approach allows drivers to perceive warnings without shifting visual attention away from the road, reducing reaction time and improving safety.

The Brevetti+ project aims to transform the patent into a commercially viable technology platform through:

The project supports the transformation of the Viber Alert patent into a strategic technology asset capable of generating value through:

By enabling drivers to perceive safety warnings through tactile feedback, the technology aims to significantly reduce distraction-related accidents and improve overall road safety.

The activities described on this page have been supported through public innovation funding programs.

The project Development and Industrialization of the ViberAlert Smart Haptic Safety System for Motorcycles has received support from Smart & Start Italia, a national program managed by Invitalia that supports innovative startups operating in high-technology sectors.

The project Valorization and Industrial Development of the Viber Alert Automotive Safety Patent has received support from the Brevetti+ incentive, aimed at promoting the economic valorization of patented technologies and strengthening the competitiveness of innovative Italian companies.

Both programs are managed by Invitalia – the Italian National Agency for Inward Investment and Economic Development.
